We Have A Decision
I want to thank the many folks who took the time to nominate a deserving person or family. Each year I say the same thing, I wish we had a dozen cars to give away, there are so many deserving, and we'd like to help each and every one...
I also want to thank the AMC team who personally reviewed each and every nomination, and our own "Chevy" McCloud who coordinated this year's project.
Here, in Chevy's own words, is the result:
We as a group have went through each and every applicant that was sent to us. We collectively felt that even though a tremendous amount of the stories had their own merits, that we all felt that we wanted the gift to go to someone who could greatly appreciate this special gift and would give them a leg up so to speak in turning their lives around. We all felt Sarah was that person. We feel she is currently maintaining and taking care of her business as a parent and this car would definitely be appreciated by her and her family.
Out of respect for their privacy, we generally don't share the last name or exact details of the recipient's situation, unless they choose to do so directly.
We'll award the car and gift certificates next week. You should know that the fellows in the workshop have named many of the cars, and this particular car is nicknamed "Silverbell"...you'll have to ask Rick where that came from. She's a silver Volvo S70, similar to the attached photo, and will serve Sarah and her family for many years to come.
Thank you one and all for helping us get the word out, for your nominations, donations and other support. We'll do this again next year.
